A very promising beginning. I'm really looking forward to seeing how your story will develop.
But don't you dare kill Haldir! Though, actually, why would you even consider it? I bet you can find a far better use of him in your story. Am I not right?

Oh, gods! What a beginning! I am not sure the description 'more serious fic' does this justice. If Haldir dies, I shall scream (very, very loudly!) Nice work...write fast! Come to think of it, I think asked for that on 'Orchids', too...well, write both fast!

Okay, I said I would scream if Haldir died...but this deserves a scream, too! Beautifully done, and very moving. I liked the lyrics, as they leave the reader with just the smallest bit of hope...lovely piece.
