Wartime, eh? Is it with Oto, and if so, have they grown that much? It seems that Orochimaru is leading a large number of nin against them...also, have they gotten past the gates, because it seems odd to me that ninja would battle so blatantly...curious about that.
I really like it. Naruto's grown up, and even if Sasuke does act a bit odd, he's exhausted and it's an awkward moment, so it's not OOC at all. Keep going with this, please! It has a lot of potential, and you did a really good job with this chapter. I have some very morbid imagery in my head from it, too, and that's always good. :p
