My ItaNaru-sensess are tingling, is this a ItaNaru fic perhaps?
I loved it, because someohw it kinda could make sense, because that could really have happened in the "real" naruto-world. Not the pet-part, but Itachi meeting Naruto like that as young.
And as you can tell, I'm an ItaNaru-lover, so I would be so happy if this would be such a fic.
And please tell me this aint a oneshot? That would totally suck.

interesting idea! i'm curious to see how this evolves; have seen other plots like this but you have a unique spin just waiting to happen. ;-)

Thank you for not beginning with little Naruto being chased by villagers. (It's a over-used start to many Naruto fics and I am SICK AND TIRED OF IT!!)
