Sorry I didn't review the first time. But I came across the story again, and was moved to read it over again. ^_^
I absolutely love the idea behind this, with the shadow jutsu. I think this is the kind of thing that should be in Naruto fanfiction more often! And the first-person perspective lets us see Shikamaru the way Kiba sees him (which in turn is the way *I* see him). I think the way you wrote his thoughts are very in-character.
Lovely fic, as all of yours are, not to mention SMEXY!
